Getting here

Do I need original physical ID to check in?

Yes, original physical identification is required by the local police registry. Mainland guests need their national ID card. International travelers must bring their physical passport (the optical scanner reads the electronic security chip; smartphone photos or paper copies cannot be processed).

Do you offer pickup or shuttle rides?

Whenever our courtyard vehicle is free, short transfers to the Mutianyu ticket gate or the village bus stop are complimentary — simply confirm your timing with the front desk beforehand (we suggest returning by 17:30). Airport or high-speed rail transfers can be booked a day ahead (charged separately).

Can I reach the hotel by public bus from Beijing?

Take the 916 Express from Dongzhimen Transport Hub straight to Huairou (buses run every 5–10 minutes, 05:50–19:50). At Huairou Beidajie station, transfer to a local mountain feeder bus to Jingyu Lukou, then walk a short distance into the courtyard. Make sure your 916 displays the red character “快” (Express).

Staying

How many guests can stay and meet?

20 rooms and 34 beds accommodate 40+ overnight guests, with extra beds by arrangement. Meeting capacity is 50+, subject to layout. Former room B207 is now the main meeting room; C106 Heming remains a guest room. Send dates, headcount, meal and rooming needs for a quote.

What are your check-in and checkout times?

Check-in begins at 14:00, and checkout is by 12:00. Cooked breakfast for two is included with each room. During peak holiday turnovers, thorough cleaning by our local village team takes a little extra time; if your room is finishing up around 14:00, enjoy a pot of tea under the courtyard trees while we finish polishing the floor.

Is the courtyard suitable for families with children?

Very much so. Children under 1.2 m enter Mutianyu free, and the downhill toboggan run through the forest is an absolute favorite. Inside our courtyards, kids can play in the sandpit, watch fish in the stream, and run around safely. We provide free infant cribs. Note that LOFT suites feature a tight spiral iron staircase, so ground-floor courtyard rooms are safer for toddlers.

Is Wi-Fi available throughout the property?

Yes — network name yutang, password pondlife. It covers all guest bedrooms, dining spaces, and courtyard gardens. (Keep in mind that cellular reception on wild mountain trails will be spotty or nonexistent).

Is the hotel open throughout the winter?

Selectively. In deep midwinter, when overnight valley temperatures dip below −15°C, heating demands are extreme and we may temporarily pause operations for facility maintenance. If you plan to visit between mid-December and mid-February, please contact us before finalizing dates.

Is the setting quiet at night?

Extremely peaceful — at night the only sounds are mountain winds and autumn crickets. The sole regular village sound is the morning announcement around 7:00. Light sleepers can simply close their windows at night, and foam earplugs are always free at the desk.

Eating

Are there dining options nearby in the evening?

Our dining room serves lunch from 11:00 to 14:00 and dinner from 17:00 to 21:00. The village falls quiet right after sunset, with no late-night groceries or food stalls; external trout restaurants are an 8–10 km drive along dark country roads. We recommend dining at the hotel or planning your dinner early.
